He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, his son Alvin, and his mother.
Tom worked at the Texas A&M University Chemistry Department in College Station. He retired from Dow Chemical after a successful career in Texas and West Virginia.
Tom loved learning and was always a strong supporter of advanced education. After graduating from high school in Hong Kong, he completed his BS and MA in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a PhD in Chemistry from the Ohio State University. Apart from his scientific knowledge, he was also very knowledgeable in finance and held an MBA and MS in Finance.
Tom had a passion for his family. He was a loving husband and father.
His passions outside of the classroom and lab included spending lots of time with his family, fishing, opera, classical music, and woodworks.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, TX 77598. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. with interment to follow.
