He was born September 5, 1948, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of George and Nell (Matthews) Gore. Steve served in the U.S. Army Security Service during the Vietnam war. He was stationed in Bad Abling and Berlin, Germany. He married Ellen Sinnard in August of 1973 and drove straight to Texas where he was employed by Nasa, working on the Skylab project. They bought a house in Friendswood, Tx. where he lived for 50 years. He was a member of the LDS Church in Friendswood. He worked for NASA, Allied, Celanese and Monsanto. He took EMS training and was on the fire crew. He retired and joined Turn around Management. He retired again and then gave his full time to his passion, bowling. He was on 3 leagues locally and loved going to State and Nationals once a year. His other hobby was guns and he liked to load his own ammunition.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen and their three children and their spouses; David and his fiancé Allison, Kevin and his fiancé Jaycee, and Linsey and John Evans. He has 4 sisters Jeanette (husband Clair), Cheryl, Donna ( husband Dale) and Barbara. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Thomas, Abigail, Donny, Charles and Joey.
He will be buried in a private family service at the Veterans National Cemetery in north Houston. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local hospice facility, in his name.
