Oh, how he longed for heaven to see Jesus and Janet.
Bob began working making deliveries for his mother’s laundry pressing business. He then left for Springfield, Missouri to attend Central Bible College. There he met the love of his life, Janet. They were married 8 months later, on August 29, 1955. After the wedding reception, he took his new bride off to the “Real World”, New Jersey, at the young age, of 19 and 21. Their first son, Alan arrived eleven months later, their second son Bobby arrived one year and nine months later, and three years later, their daughter Janelle was born.
Bob was a very hardworking man and began his career in construction. He spent the early part of his life as a very talented craftsman building custom cabinets and interior trim for new home builds. He then moved his family to Texas to pursue a career in building custom homes in the greater Houston area. While raising his family and working full-time he finished his education and received his college degree. He then became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Church and took the position of Head Pastor at Park Place Assembly of God. He retired at the age of 55.
His greatest achievement was raising three children who loved God and they raised their children in the ways of the Lord. There is no greater legacy. Bob had a deep love for traveling and he and Janet traveled the world together. Bob was an avid reader and loved spending time studying the bible. He spent many years teaching Sunday School and poured into the lives of countless people. Bob never knew a stranger and was quick with his wit and lighthearted humor. He will be missed by so many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Mae Foley, his son, Robert W. Foley (Bobby), son, James A. Foley (Alan), his parents, Alma Beaumont Foley Perrault and James Foley, his sister, Ellen Smith and brother-in-law, Melvin Smith.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Janelle Foley Powell, and husband, Sherwood Powell, daughter-in-law Cathy Thornton Foley, and his 5 grandchildren: Jason, Jonathan, Lauren, Samantha, and Kacey, as well as, 5 great-grandchildren: Aubrielle, Jackson, Diego, Bruno, and Penelope.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. A Celebration of Bob’s life will begin at 10:00 AM. Immediately following he will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery.
