Mary Elizabeth Benton

Mary Elizabeth Benton, age 97, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Mary was born in Caldwell, Texas on March 24, 1925 to Frank and Bessie Shupak. She was married to Fred Benton on November 3, 1956 then spent the next 31 years sharing their lives together. Mary had a career in the food industry for Steve's Barbecue for 40 years in Houston, Texas. She was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. Mary had a passion for family, especially her grandkids and great granddaughter. She loved fishing, Skip Bo cards, Dominos, Bingo, casinos, and family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by nine siblings; Bill, Julie, Annie, Lydia, Frank, Molly, Rose, Anton, and Martha Shupak, her husband; Fred Benton and her parents, Frank and Bessie Shupak.

She is survived by her brother; Joe, daughter; Wanda Rousseau (Alan), her grandchildren, Conner Rousseau, Sarah Rousseau Vercellino (Corey), and great granddaughter Raine Bessy Vercellino along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A committal service will occur Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A reception will occur Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
