Lewis Thomas Simmonds

Lewis T. Simmonds, age 84, of Friendswood, Texas passed away December 18, 2024. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 24, 1940, to Lewis and Viola Simmonds. He was married to Ada Belle McIntyre for 63 years.

Lewis had a career in Computer Programming and worked for the Houston Post, Dresser Industries, Sysco, as well as a Reservist for the Harris County Sheriff. He had a passion for reading, gardening, going to the shooting range, wood working, and fishing.

Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Belle Simmonds, daughter, Judy Marie Simmonds, parents, Lewis, and Viola Simmonds, and son-in-law, Timothy Ireland.

He's survived by four daughters: Kathy and her husband Ron Sommers of Galveston, Texas, Terrie Ireland of Cocoa, Florida, Debra Johnston of Friendswood, Texas, Susan and husband Justin Rank of Webster, Texas. Two brothers, Donald Simmonds of Fort Worth, Texas, and Larry Simmonds of Magnolia, Texas. His five grandchildren: Anthony, Sara, Taryn, Tyler, and Chip. Three great grandchildren: Morgan, Kenny, and Madilyn along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service for Lewis will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas, with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 PM at Forest Park East Cemetery.
