John Perez was called home to his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 9, 2022, with his family by his side. John was a true warrior who fiercely and bravely battled cancer for seven years. He was born in Bay City, Texas on July 18, 1953, to John Pena and Olga Perez and was the oldest of three siblings.
John’s proudest achievement was his career in Law Enforcement starting in 1977. He served the City of Clear Lake Shores as Patrolman and Chief of Police for two years, Chief of Police for the City of El Lago for eight Years, and Chief of Police for Lakeview Police Department for one year. Following law enforcement, John worked in the industrial services. He was Project manager for Aims Companies in Pearland, Texas. John was a natural leader and was an inspiration to all that knew and worked with him. His hilarious sense of humor was his best quality. He loved to make people laugh. He wanted to be remembered as being a fair person, He loved his family dearly and often coached, “Be yourself, be proud, and be generous.”
John’s favorite pastimes and hobbies were fishing and hunting. John had quite the collection. He loved to be out at the deer lease and cherished the hunt to enjoy his friends and family. His other favorite times were out on the boat fishing with his wife, Wendy. John loved old cars and had too many to count over the years. He was hardworking, especially in his yard and garage while barbequing on his enormous BBQ Pit.
