Jo Ann "Bigham" Lawson

Jo Ann was born on August 23, 1936 in Wilson, OK to Sam and Edith Bigham. She graduated from high school in 1954 and went to work with Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator. She met Jim in Ardmore, OK and they married in Gainsville in 1957. After Ron was born in 1959, they were stationed in Japan then moved back to the United States. They were stationed at Air Force bases in North Carolina, Florida, where Jeff was born in 1966 in Tampa. While Jim was deployed to Vietnam, Jo Ann and the boys lived in Oklahoma City, OK where she started cosmetology school. When Jim returned, they were stationed at Charleston AFB where she received her cosmetology license. They moved to Houston in 1973 when Jim retired and she went back to work for the phone company where she worked for the next 30 years. She has been an active member of Sagemont Church since 1988. One look at Jo Ann and you could easily tell she loved nice clothes and jewelry; she was an avid shopper and rarely passed up a bargain. She spent a lot of time traveling to visit family and friends, enjoyed going to San Antonio, Branson, New Mexico, Austin, Tyler and Oklahoma just to name a few. While visiting her brothers in Oklahoma, they would spend time at the casinos and researching their ancestry. For many years, there have been several very loyal four legged companions, the last two are Molly and Riley, both of which are being well cared for now by family and friends.

Jo Ann is proceeded in deth by her parents, Sam William Bigham and Florence Edith Norris Bigham Husband Jim Lawson, sister Rosemary Bigham Marshall. She is survived by two sons, Ron Lawson and wife Lorrie of Santa Fe, TX, Jeff Lawson of Houston. Grand children Joshua and wife Jennifer Truitt of Alvin, TX, Jessica Lawson of Houston, Jason Lawson and Justin Lawson of Santa Fe, TX, Jeremy Lawson and wife Jordan, Jacob Lawson and Jillian Lawson, all of Houston. Great grandson Rylan Truitt of Alvin, TX. Brothers Billy J. and wife Mary J. of Edmond, OK and Sam R. and Jo Ann Bigham of Durant, OK. There are also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
