It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeff “Jay” D. Jackson, age 65, on September 22, 2023, in Galveston County. Jay was born on April 30, 1958, in Jacksonville, Florida, to his parents, Lester Jackson and Barbara Foshay. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service to his community, a passion for family, serving and protecting his community, sports, and music.
Jay retired as a Sheriff Deputy for Galveston County, having faithfully served and protected the community for more than 30 years. Before returning to Galveston County, he held the position of Chief of Police at the Alvin ISD Police Department. Jay graduated from the FBI National Academy Class 214 in July 2003. His dedication to ensuring the safety of others was unwavering and made a significant impact on those he served.
Jay is survived by his sons, Jay and Kyle Jackson, his daughter-in-law, Crystal Jackson and his grandchildren, Peyton, Kendyll, Cooper, and Clay Jackson. As well as his brother Joey Dillon, sisters Becky Christesson and Carrie Dillon, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jay was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Ann Jackson, his father, Lester Jackson, his mother, Barbara Foshay, and his brother, Tim Jackson.
Jay's passion for life, his dedication to service, and his love for family and community will be remembered and cherished by all. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life he led and the positive impact he had on so many.
A Memorial gathering will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster TX 77598 on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at 1pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm.
