Brian, married for 40 years is survived by his wife, Roseanne Marie Beaupre’ Totten, his daughter, Lauren Michelle Totten and Allan Michael Thurlow, fiancé; his son James Joseph Totten II, Amilia Ramirez Totten, wife and his grandson, William Alexander Totten.
He is survived by his sister Lynne Totten Lamb and Donald Lamb, husband. He is also preceded him in death, by his oldest brother James Allen Totten (1959). Brian is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Brian was a man of faith and shared his faith in Christ in every aspect of his life. He understood that it was important to have a relationship with Jesus, not just to know who He was but to truly know, love and trust Him.
Brian loved life and wanted so much for his family, always introducing them to new and innovative discoveries. He traveled the world for business and yet called every evening wanting to hear how their day went. He loved his family very much and when he came home, he always took the opportunity to engage them in fishing, boating, and camping or just biking. He enjoyed cooking and grilling and sharing stories of his travels with family and friends. Having a “well rounded” sense of humor he made many folks smile. He had a special love for his cats he kept during his life, particularly Timbo, Charley, Ray-Ray, Kiki, Leo, and Oreo. He was a fan of Ian Fleming’s James Bond novel series and enjoyed the movie renditions; and was also a history enthusiast. Brian had a special brotherly friendship with his long-time friend Jose Villareal. They enjoyed motorcycle rallies, fishing, and their love of cooking and inventing things.
Brian was very accomplished in the Printing Industry and during his 40-year career, he rose quickly from small offset to large format presses in the introduction of supporting equipment for both German and Japanese companies. He played a pivotal role in implementing key design elements still being used in the industry today with regard to water based and UV coating, drying and refrigerated recirculation systems. He was considered a master electrician as well as a PLC programmer as it related to Graphic Arts.
Brian was respected throughout the Printing Industry and regarded as master in all aspects of Graphic Arts; however, he always felt that his most important achievement during his career was his ability to gain the customer’s trust and respect and friendship.
