Waynesville-Vivian Deanna Greene, 66 of Waynesville, died on March 14, 2015, after an extended illness. Deanna was born in Haywood County on June 30, 1948, to the late John and Willa Mae Hall Trull. Deanna was a graduate of WCU with a Bachelor’s Degree in teaching history. She taught school, substitute taught and taught in the local GED program. She was a former member of Red Bank Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and enjoyed heading the VBS children’s program each year. Deanna was a present member of Balsam Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School class. Her favorite hobby was making and crafting jewelry, most of which she ended up giving away rather than selling. Deanna is survived by her loving husband, Michael Greene, of 42 years; two daughters, Dana Greene and Tiare Mashburn (Tony); two brothers, John Trull and Ronald (Judd) Trull (Donna); three grandchildren, Jonathan Eik, Moriah and Emma Mashburn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, at Balsam Baptist Church with the Reverend Johnny Swanger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Haywood County Public Library at 678 South Haywood Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
