Waynesville, N.C.- Patricia Bremner White, 89, of Waynesville passed away peacefully Thursday May 24, 2018 at The Crossings at Reynolds Mountain in Woodfin, N.C. Patti was born on December 21, 1928 in White Plains N.Y., the daughter of Donald J. Bremner and Helen Leavenworth Bremner. She grew up in White Plains and spent many happy summers as a child on her family's farm, the Converse Farm on the shores of Lake Champlain in Charlotte, VT. She graduated from SUNY Oswego with a BS in Education. Patti taught kindergarten in White Plains. She married Robert Mersereau and they had a son Donald. After their divorce, she met and married Roger White. Together, they owned and operated the Marsh-Plain Motel in Marshfield, VT from 1972 – 1983 and they retired to Waynesville where they enjoyed volunteer work and traveling until his death in 1997. Patti continued to volunteer at the Haywood Regional Medical Center for over twenty years. She enjoyed reading, baking, caring for her houseplants, cardinals and cross stitching. Patti will be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was predeceased by her husband Roger White. Patti is survived by her son Donald Mersereau and his wife Molly of Williston, VT, her granddaughter Melissa and her husband Luis Sanchez of Whidbey Island, WA, four great grandchildren; Noah, Jael, Noel, and Mila Sanchez, Bob and Janet Peterson, her noisy grand-puppy Gracie and her beloved cat Miss Ellie. Special thanks to the staff at The Crossing at Reynolds Mountain, Corrie and the staff at Four Seasons Hospice, and Pauline from Griswold Home Care. Your love and care for Patti will never be forgotten. A celebration of Patti's life will be held on June 9th at 2:00 pm at Garrett Funeral Home in Waynesville.
Interment for Patti will be held on June 30, 2018 at 11:00 am in Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington VT.
