Gene Griffin

Bethel-Tommy (Gene) Griffin, age 69, died suddenly on Monday, October 20, 2014, at his residence. Gene was born on June 2, 1945, to the late Harrison Griffin, Sr. and Cora Davis Griffin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and just being outdoors. Most of all Gene had a great love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Ann Brown; a son, Greg Griffin; and a brother, Harrison Griffin, Jr. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Darlene; two sons, Ricky and Jimmy Griffin; a step-son, Jimmy Stepp; a step-daughter, Crystal Bryant; a sister, Sue Jenkins; a sister-in-law, Joyce Griffin; the mother of his children, Marie Griffin; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 24, at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM at Bethel Baptist Church and at other times at the residence of Sue Jenkins.
