Clyde - Bobby F. Buchanan, 79, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 17, 1934 in the Allen’s Creek Community to the late Jule and Viola Coffey Buchanan.

Bob served in the US Army, he retired after 39 years of service with Dayco Southern. He was a longtime member of Hazelwood Baptist Church where he served many positions including chairman of deacons, Sunday school teacher and choir member.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, J.B. Buchanan and Neil Wyatt.

Survivors include, his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Fortner Buchanan; son, Jason and Sharon Buchanan of Siler City, NC; daughter, Lesa and Jim Frady of Simpsonville, SC; brothers, Hugh and Nancy Buchanan and Jerry Buchanan (Susan); sister in law, Frances Wyatt; brother in law and sister in law, Joe and Katherine Fortner; sister in law Katherine F. High; four grandchildren, Jason Buchanan, II, Abigail Buchanan, Lydia Frady, and Caroline Frady.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Monday, August 11, 2014 at Hazelwood Baptist Church with the Reverends Tim Lolley, Don Letzring, and Jon Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 PM Monday prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery.
