Debbie Sue Schaffer

Debbie Sue Schaffer, age 73, of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly at 3:53 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at home. Debbie was born October 25, 1950 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Russell Thompson and Hannah Margaret McCracken Thompson. She was a lifelong resident of Greene County. Debbie loved singing to anyone who would listen when she was riding her motorcycle and really enjoyed making people laugh. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Even though she did not have any children, she loved all of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Debbie was a hunter, an avid Harley rider and a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was the past President of the Greene County A.B.A.T.E. and was secretary and treasurer for Patriots Dream Riding Association. Debbie retired from the Greene County Memorial Hospital in 2001 after having served as a CNA and also worked in the dietary department. Her 1st Husband: Justin R. Spurlock died August 30, 2001. Her 2nd Husband: Leland F. Schaffer, whom she married on December 25, 2002 survives. Also surviving are 2 Sisters: Nellie Shirk of Spraggs, PA and Sharon Powers of Canonsburg, PA as well as several nieces, nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews. Deceased are 4 Sisters- Katy Stranak, Bedie Kinder, Betty Jo Waychoff and Dorothy Cady. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 197 N. Maiden St. Waynesburg, PA 15370 Shane M. Ayers, Director where services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 with Rev. Robert Mooney officiating. Interment will be Private.
