It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian “Beep” Shimek, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and dear friend. At the age of 45, Brian departed from us, leaving a void that can never be filled.
Brian was born on August 2nd, 1978, to Ron (deceased) and Cathy Shimek in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Brian is survived by two brothers, Brett Shimek (Taraha) and Kevin Greenwood (Lauren) and his niece Bailee (Colten) Davidson. He joins his father Ron Shimek and brother Gary Greenwood in eternal rest.
Brian was a proud graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering. He worked for a handful of companies over his 20 years as an Engineer and most recently he was a Senior Design Engineer at Equitrans.
Brian was a passionate soul who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, surrounded by the love of his cherished friends and family. His unwavering commitment to those he held dear was evident in every aspect of his being.
A dedicated golfer, Brian found solace and excitement on the greens, where his love for the sport shone brightly. His enthusiasm for golf was infectious, creating countless cherished memories with friends who shared his passion.
Beyond his love for golf, Brian had an impressive analytical mind. His intellect was a guiding light and his ability to unravel complex problems left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though Brian remained unmarried, his heart was filled with boundless love for his family and friends. His warm spirit and generous nature endeared him to everyone he met. Brian had a special gift for connecting with others, and his willingness to help was a comforting presence in the lives of those who sought his guidance and support.
In honoring Beep’s memory, a celebration of life will be held on December 30, 2023 from 1 PM until 5 PM at The Greene County Country Club. Please let us remember the laughter he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he gave so freely. May his spirit live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, and may we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared with Brian.
Rest in peace, dear Brian, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
