Obituary of William Everett "Bill" Anderson, II
William Everett “Bill” Anderson, II, 69, of Waynesboro passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2024 at his home. Born September 9, 1954 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late William Everett Anderson and Ruth (Harrison) Anderson. On July 30, 1980 he married Joyce Ann Hypes. The two shared 44 years of wonderful marriage. Bill, along with his father, owned and operated Anderson’s Market in Waynesboro for many years. Following the closing of Anderson’s Market, Bill was employed by Reynolds Metal Company in Grottoes where he faithfully worked for 23 years prior to retiring. He was a member of Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church, Waynesboro. Those who knew him will remember how he always had Fox News on the TV, was an avid NY Yankees fan, enjoyed watching Western movies, and spending time with his family. Bill had a love for all animals, but loved his k-9 companion, Toby, the most. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Hypes) Anderson of Waynesboro; son, Danny Anderson and wife, Lynette, of Lexington, NC; daughter, Jodi Johnson and husband, Tim, of Crimora; grandson, Marshall Anderson of Lexington, NC; two brothers-in-law, Randy Hypes and wife, Nancy, of Waynesboro and Larry Hypes and wife, Sharon, of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Michelle Wilson and husband, Mark, of Crimora; special friend, Bubby Dean and wife, Becky, of Harriston; and a number of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church, 767 Calf Mountain Road, Waynesboro with Rev. Merle Fisher officiating.
