Dale was born in Waynesboro to Joyce (Brown) Bryant and Warren B. Bryant on August 22nd, 1953. He worked as a mechanic and driver for the City of Waynesboro for 23 years before retiring from that position. After “retirement” he continued to work for the city, driving a school bus, where he continued to impact the lives of the students that he drove. Dale loved his bluegrass music, playing with his family in the Ridgerunner band for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. Dale will be warmly remembered for his abundant love for his family. He was fiercely proud of his children and grandchildren, and fiercely devoted to Brenda, his wife of 48 years. Dale never met a stranger, and would run in to people who knew him everywhere they went, both locally, and across the country. On the rare occasions he did meet someone new, they were friends by the time the conversation ended.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a son, Warren D. Bryant; and two brothers, Ricky Bryant and Kenneth Bryant.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Bryant of Stuarts Draft; his children, Bobby Lee Bryant and wife Vera of Greenville and Kimberly Byers and husband Alan of Stuarts Draft; his grandchildren, Tucker Byers, Hunter Byers, Blake Byers, McKenzie Bryant, Madison Bryant and Jackson Bryant. He is also survived by two brothers, Gary Bryant and Randy Bryant; a sister, Susie Bryant; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by close friends, Jerry Hall and Tim Spears, as well as his “grand-puppy” Gunner.
Following cremation, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
