Virginia Consuella (Tate) Kassel

Virginia C. (Tate) Kassel, 84, of Fishersville passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Augusta Health.
Born June 4, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Cunningham) Tate.
Virginia was a member of St. John of God Roman Catholic Church, Central Islip, NY. While living in Virginia at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, she attended Ridgeview Baptist Church and church services at Birch Gardens. She was a member of the Waynesboro Senior Center, enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her favorite game shows.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry V. Kassel, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include her six children, Christine Moore (Gregory) of FL, Ginny Wilson (Chuck) of VA, Anthony Pavek (Shuk Hing) of NY, Joseph Pavek (Maria) of NY, James Pavek (Diane Crisi) of NY and Susan Dandola (Dan) of NY; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Father Joseph Tate of IN and Hugh Tate (Theresa) of NY; sister, Marianne Henson of NY; sisters-in-law, Shelly Tate of SC and Rosemary Tate of NY; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Birch Gardens Assisted Living in Fishersville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Virginia’s memory to Waynesboro Senior Center, 325 Pine Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
