Steve was born in Pontiac, Michigan on August 4th, 1948. His devoted and cherished wife Laureen would have celebrated together 49 years of marriage on October 11th. His daughters Amy and Abbey were his pride and joy. He proudly worked in the automotive industries until he was unable to, due to illness. Steve was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and a man of great faith. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Fishersville and loved his church family.
Steve showed unconditional love and always put others first. His illness caused numerous barriers for him over the years but never stopped him from doing what he could to help. He was a longtime volunteer for Hospice both in Michigan and Virginia where he provided comfort to others in need. Steve developed a wonderful artistic ability during his illness and always wanted to share his artwork with others.
He was the son of the late Beulah L. and Lyle H. Barron and brother of Paul.
Survived by his beloved daughters, Amy (Brian) Ford of Moseley, VA and Abbey (Ken) Holley of Waynesboro, VA. He cherished his role of “Papa” to his dear Benjamin Jack, Brendan Mark and Anna Claire Ford. In addition, he is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Burgess of Columbia, VA, and Becky and Dick Gaines of Lake City, MI; as well as sisters Carol (Mike) Stockwell and Marie (Ray) Brackett of MI.
