Shirley was born in Waynesboro, VA to the late Robert M. and Sallie G. Smith on October 28, 1936.
She went to school at Crimora Elementary and Wilson Memorial High School. She was married to the late Robert G. Graham. She worked in retail for many years and was a faithful member of the Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her infant twin daughters; son, Bill Tillman, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Nan and Ray Pangle; brothers, Earl Smith, Austin Smith and wife, Eunice, Raymond Smith and wife, Ruby; two nieces; three nephews, and one great nephew.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Cyndi Tillman Johnson and Brian Hutchinson, who has taken care of her for the last five years, and estranged daughter, Kae Calloway. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Cheri Huber, Will and Cat Johnson, Annda Renee Claytor, Daniel and Saida Tillman, Jason and Stephanie Dedrick, Gary R. and Amanda Dedrick. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three nieces and their husbands; one nephew and his wife, and their families; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special friends, who were like family to her, Dolly Martin, and daughter TraDonna, Betty Lou Wharam and Beth Roadcap whom she loved very much. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro, VA, with Pastor A.J. Groeschel officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
