Sandra G. Mathews

Sandra Ann (Grant) Mathews, 76, of Fishersville, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at River Edge Nursing & Rehab Center in Waynesboro. She was born January 14, 1948, the daughter of the late Eugene Hansford and Daisy Irene (Layne) Grant. Sandra was employed in retail sales in various capacities in the area. Survivors include her husband, James Mathews; son, Adam Grant Hughes and wife, Megan of Elkton; grandson, Chase Hughes; aunt, Linda Hurt and husband, Charles of Staunton. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Those wishing to attend the service may meet directly at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. on the day of the service. There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
