Roy C. Brooks

Born August 22, 1939 in Stuarts Draft, he was the son of the late James H. and Hazel M. (Austin) Brooks.

Roy lived in California for over 34 years, during that time, he worked as an assistant to the Vice President of Platt Music Corp. While in California, he developed numerous friendships. He was a member of Metropolitan Community Church of Los Angeles, CA. He moved back to Virginia and was employed with the Best Western in Staunton for over 12 years before retiring in 2009 due to declining health. He was a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church.

Roy is survived by his sister, Joyce B. Ralston; niece, Tessie R. Reid and husband, Wesley; two great-nephews, Joshua and Benjamin Reid; great-niece, Kathrin Reid; and great-great-niece, Elizabeth Reid.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. All who plant to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, it was Roy’s request that donations be made to Pet Adoption Center, the Humane Society of Nelson County or the Stuarts Draft Baptist Church Building Fund.
