Obituary of Lillie Beach
Lillie Coursey Beach, known to many by a plethora of nicknames including Lil, Charlene, Sis, Mamaw, Mawmaw, and most importantly, Mom, passed away with family by her side on Monday, June 18, 2018. She was born April 22, 1934, to the late Cleo and Charlie Coursey in McClung, Virginia. She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1951. She then married James Henry Beach, Jr., who survives, on June 10, 1954. She was licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of Virginia, but later transitioned into the position of full-time mother after the birth of her children. She was an active member of Fishersville United Methodist Church, where she helped found the program "XYZ". She enjoyed spending her time surrounded by friends and family, spectating at softball and baseball games for both her husband and son in her younger years and eventually for her grandchildren, and was an avid Washington Nationals fan. She is survived by her husband, James Beach, Jr.; her sister Bonnie Duncan; her son, Jeff Beach and former daughter-in-law Donna Braden; her daughter, Jamie Fawley and her husband Mike ; her daughter, Julie Meek and her husband Darrell; her grandchildren, Nick Fawley and his wife Jaclyn, Justin Beach and his wife Andrea, Megan Lawson and her husband Nathan, Bradley Meek, Jessica Beach, and Matthew Meek; her great-grandchildren, Isabel and Nash Lawson, Camden and Turner Beach, Braylee Meek, and Ashby Fawley; nieces; nephews; and all of her friends and church family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Fishersville United Methodist Church on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
