Katie Margaret Herron

Waynesboro: Katie Margaret Herron, 87, of Waynesboro, passed away on Sunday May 13, 2012 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. Mrs. Herron was born on February 2, 1925 in Nelson County and was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Verolina(Henderson) Herron. She retired from Lever Brothers in Baltimore in 1985 after 28 years of service. In her retirement she loved working in her yard, going dancing, and was very active in the Moose Lodge and Eagles Club. Katie is survived by a son, David W. Herron and wife Rhonda of Stuarts Draft; a brother, John G. Herron of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Dylan Herron, Wyatt Herron, Allison Herron; numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends who will miss her greatly. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Herron was preceded in death by five sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 17, 2012 at 11 AM at Hebron Baptist Church in Afton, with Pastor Michael Embrey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
