Obituary of Judy Frye
Judy Frye, 85, of Jacksonville, FL, was called to her heavenly home on November 5, 2024, joining her beloved late husband Peyton, of 64 years of marriage, after she struggled with dementia for nearly seven years. Judy was born to the late William and Eva McAlister of Waynesboro, VA. She moved from Waynesboro to Jacksonville thirty-seven years ago. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peyton Frye; daughter, Liz Frye; son, Tony Frye; grandson, Garth Webb; identical twin sister, Janet Hutchinson; brothers, Leland and Mike McAlister. Judy is survived by her daughters, Joan and Lynn Frye; son, JC Frye (Jojo); grandsons, Chris Frye (Kim), Jason (Princess) and Carlo (Rochelle) Conty; granddaughter, Larissa Charoubi; great-granddaughter, Amelia Conty; sister, Betty Johns; brother, Johnny McAlister (Charlotte); and numerous other relatives and friends. Judy was a devoted and loving homemaker and a devout Catholic all her adult life. Up until her challenges with dementia, she was a lector at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Mandarin, Jacksonville, FL and an active participant at their Food Bank. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Corbin officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Christopher Frye, Johnnie McAlister, Leland Hutchinson, Brian Hutchinson, Robby Shields, Tommy AcAlister, Chad McAlister, and Tony Tabor.
