John Eldridge Ott Jr.

Born October 13, 1956, he was the son of the late John Eldridge Sr., and Lucille Ann Showalter Ott.

He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1975 and attended Blue Ridge Community College.

After 30 years of service, he retired early from DuPont in 2006 and was more recently employed with Hershey of Stuarts Draft.

He was an avid golfer, where he enjoyed playing with his son-in-law Nick Schartiger and Nick’s father Chuck. He enjoyed watching all sports, coaching his children’s teams, the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Survivors include a son, Joshua Ott of Charlottesville, daughter, Lindsey Schartiger and husband Nick of Waynesboro; a sister, Brenda Vann of Fishersville, and the mother of their children, Regina Ott.

He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.

Following a private family memorial service, the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
