John Joseph Daub

John Joseph Daub, 72, of Keswick, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2013. He was born February 21, 1941 in New York, NY. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years Jeanette; daughter, Debbie Daub and husband, Dominic from New Milford, NJ; two sons, Daniel Daub from New Milford, NJ and John Daub and wife, Mary Jane from Mt. Laurel, NJ; sister, Florence Steimle and husband, Kenny from Maywood, NJ; also blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren, Darren Goodall, Daniel John Daub, Claudia Daub, John Daub, Rachel Daub, Rebecca Daub and Thomas Daub. He is also survived by father-in-law, Bob Andris; sister-in-laws, Linda Andris, Vivian Gioiella and husband, Thomas; brother-in-law, Robert Andris and wife, Donna; nieces, Susan Steimle Melz and husband, Peter, Natalie Gioiella, Megan Passanisi and husband, Joseph, Brittany Andris, Brooke Andris; nephews Kenny Steimle and wife, Jen, Steven Steimle and wife, Tanya, Robert Andris and Brian Andris. At the age of 17, John entered the U.S. Navy and served bravely for 4 years. After being honorably discharged, he went on to learn the trade of a butcher opening a successful business for over a 10 year period. This would cement John's passion for food and his desire to feed you at all times. Always Looking for a new challenge and using his love for people, John went on to become a Real estate Agent then Broker owning and operating a successful Century 21 franchise , Four Star Real Estate in Bergenfield, NJ. Retiring in 2004, he moved to Keswick, VA and build his "Dream" home in the mountains he loved. During his retirement, he enjoyed landscaping, painting, cooking, talking and fellowship with his family and friends. John had found his home and peace in his faith in Christ and his church family at Springdale Mennonite Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 30, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro. A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday July 1, 2013 at Springdale Mennonite Church, 170 Hall School Road, Waynesboro, with Pastor Richard Showalter and Pastor Dick Alderfer officiating military rites will be observed directly following the service. Active pallbearers will be Darren Goodall, Daniel John Daub, Claudia Daub, John Daub, Rachel Daub, Rebecca Daub and Thomas Daub.
