Jack was a lifelong resident of Waynesboro and had retired from GE. More than anything in the world, he loved going to and watching all of his grandchildren’s ball games. He also enjoyed watching the Redskins on Sunday afternoon while eating a hamburger and home fries. Jack was a simple man with simple pleasures and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Annie Fisher; siblings, Elsie, Bettie, Mickey and Buck.
Survivors include his wonderful and caring wife of 46 years, Jean W. Fisher, who has been a blessing and champion during his illness; two sons, Randy Fisher and wife, Liz and Steve Fisher and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Matthew, Alex, Zac, Brad, Hunter, Hayden and Emma; and great grandson, Moxley.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church with Pastor Vivian M. Utz and Rev. Michael W. Pettry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses on the third floor at Augusta Health and all of the nurses at Augusta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for caring for Jack in his final days. All of you are God’s Angels and God bless you. Also a special thank you to Jack’s friends that took him to Quillen Lunch on Fridays.
