Iva Arlene (Bradley) Evans, 93, of Waynesboro passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Avante of Waynesboro.
Born January 29, 1923 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Otho A. and Ida S. (Coffey) Bradley.
Iva was a founding and lifetime member of Wayne Hills United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. She was employed by Leggett Department Store and retired in 1984.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Evans, Jr.; two grandsons, Deron D. Day and Christopher Hughes; three sisters, Vivian Bradley and husband, Lyle, Helen M. Gunn and husband, Robert and Elsie Idel Bradley; brother-in-law, Robert “Jake” Evans.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lois Hughes of Waynesboro and JoAnn Day and husband, Donald of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Julia Ryder and Elizabeth Woodson and husband, Randy; four great-grandchildren, Randy Woodson, Jr., Skylar Campbell, Lindsay Lucas and Pfc. Andrew Hughes; sister-in-law, Eva Marie Evans; special cat, Max; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor MiSook Ahn officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro.
