F. Allen Williams, Jr.

F. Allen Williams, Jr., a resident of Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and Christian Homes in Stuarts Draft, Virginia, formerly of Charlottesville, Virginia and Deposit, New York peacefully went to be with Our Loving Lord on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022.
Allen graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne, Pennsylvania and Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. After retirement as Vice President of Fairplay Caramels in Johnson City, New York, Allen enjoyed staying active as a loving grandfather, volunteer, and seeking academic endeavors through Lifelong Learning Classes in both Charlottesville and Harrisonburg. He also spent time enjoying his great love of history and his membership in The Civil War Roundtable.
Allen was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Ann Cottrell in 2010 and his brother, Ronald B. Williams in 2006.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 54 years, Mary Ann Williams; son, Gregory Williams and wife, Emily, and their children, Abigail and Cooper of Vestal, New York. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Shannon, Kayleigh, and Clare Cottrell and their father, Stephen Cottrell of Culpeper, Virginia, Private First Class Cody Muckey and wife, Elena of Seattle, Washington and his mother, Danita Muckey and fiancè, James Blood of Alton Bay, New Hampshire. Allen is also survived by his sister-in-law, Kathleen Williams of Reston, Washington; nieces, Penny Williams and husband, Jeri Walker of Seattle, Washington, Karen Williams and husband, Todd Gray of Galesville, Maryland, and Lesley Williams and husband, Chris Whiteside of Glen Allen, Virginia.
Allen will be missed, dearly, by his loving family and friends. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, keen sense of humor, and his brave courage, repeatedly, in the face of illness.
A memorial service to celebrate Allen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 18, 2022 at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 W Main St., Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.
