Ann was born in Fishersville, Virginia to William C Pannell and Ocie (Corbin) Pannell on November 15th, 1932. Ann will be remembered as a sweet and loving woman who dearly loved her family, both her biological family and her “extended” family who gather at the Waynesboro Burger King for coffee every morning. She loved to shop and loved her cats and dogs, frequently referring to her families dogs as her “babies.”
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Wood; two sons, Jeffrey Wood and Keith Wood; a brother, Wallace Pannell; a sister, Rosalie Yamrose; a grandson, Mason Wood; and a niece, Vicki Rose.
Ann is survived by her beloved husband of over 70 years, Irvin Wood Jr; her daughter, Cheryl McCauley of Waynesboro; her son, Scott Wood with wife Tracy of Verona; as well as her grandchildren, Sidney McCauley, Bailee McCauley, Angela Wood, Ginger Wood, Candice Wood, Justin Wood, Joshua Wood, Isha Wood, Ethan Wood, and Amanda Bland. In addition, she is survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 27th at 2:00 PM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Augusta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wood, Isha Wood, Ethan Wood, Ashton Wood, Justin Wood and Scott Wood.
