Edward Lee Bowles, of Waynesboro, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in Fishersville.
Edward was born in Waynesboro to the late Otha Lee and Maretta (Raines) Bowles on June 11, 1938. He married Joyce Elaine Matheny on October 24, 1959. Edward served in the United States Air Force. He retired from DeJarnette Center in Staunton. Edward was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Edward is survived by his wife, Joyce of 59 years; three children; Mark Bowles, Troy Bowles and Ronda Early; sons- in -law, Roderick Early and Darko Panjol; brother, Calvin Wayne Bowles; sister, Freda (Bowles) Wayland; grandchildren, Ashley Stevens, Aimee Gajus, Travis Bowles and Derek Bowles; great-grandchildren, Starlyn, Gajus and Willow Stevens; Special cousin, Tessie Atkins.
A graveside service will be conducted at Augusta Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday August 9, 2018 with Pastor Ray Eppard officiating.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
