Obituary of Dixie Lee Hart McClenahan
Dixie Lee Hart McClenahan of Waynesboro, Va., peacefully passed away at her home on her eighty-fifth birthday, June 25, 2024, surrounded and embraced with love by her husband, Jack, her children and their spouses, and other family members. Dixie's life will be celebrated on July 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The First Baptist Church, 301 South Wayne Ave, Waynesboro, Va. A luncheon will follow the service. Her pastor, the Reverend Paul Oakley, will lead the service. Dixie was a successful businesswoman and former co-owner of Cardinal Realty. She later opened a store, Twice as Nice, and retired when she was eighty-three. More importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched endless lives personally and with her civic involvement. In place of flowers, contributions in Dixie's name can be made to Valley Hope Counseling Center, 201-B, Rosser Ave., Waynesboro, Va 22980. Dixie was born to Charles and Sarah Hart on June 25, 1939, in Yeagertown, Pa. Dixie graduated in 1957 from Penns Valley High School in Spring Mills, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean. Her remaining sister, Peg Confer, resides in Centre Hall, Pa. Dixie is also survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Jack McClenahan, and their four children and their spouses, Mitch "Mitter" McClenahan and wife Kelly, Laura "Koots" Hall, and her husband William, Paula "Bird" Figgatt and husband Bret, Susan "Scrap Iron" Floyd and her husband Paul along with ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The ten grandchildren: Nicole "Snooks" Stuples and her husband, Rick; Dayn "Boyser" McClenahan; Austin "Professor" McClenahan and wife Kat; and Haley "Hay-Hay" Racquel, Parents- Mitch and Kelly McClenahan Jenia "Beaner" Blea and husband Tyler- Parents Laura and Step Father William Hall, Father Robert Clark Chris "Spike" Figgatt and wife Teahra, Jack "Cork" Figgatt and partner Danielle Short, Meredith "Happ" Puddington and husband Paul - Parents Paula and Bret Figgatt Harmony Lee "Pinkster" Floyd and Jack "JC" Floyd, -Parents Susan and Paul Floyd The twelve great-grandchildren. Tyler "Mr. T", Bethany "BB”, Emma "Baby M", Camila “Ms Milly", Rachael "Rach”, Robert "Bobo," Jakob "Jake", Daniel "Danny Boy.", Rowyn Cove "RC," Lennon River "Lenny," Elias "Ten", Caleb "Beans", and additionally, one great-great-grandchild, Charles "Charley." The family would also like to thank Jeannie Pace from Augusta Health Hospice for her professional yet tender care of Dixie.
