David Harry “Dave” Lutton, 88, of Waynesboro passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
David was born in Tampa, Florida on October 15, 1932, a son of the late Wesley and Margaret Christine (Morris) Lutton.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retired as a Clinical Engineer from the University of Virginia and was a member of Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Lutton on April 3, 2019; siblings, Clifford, Wesley and Russell.
Survivors include a son, Wesley Lutton of Stuarts Draft; daughters, Cynthia Blackwell and husband, Jack of Waynesboro, Robin K. Birckhead and husband, Thomas of Crozet; six grandchildren, Melanie Garrison, Heather Palmer, Kristina Birckhead, Meagan Cash, Thomas Lee Birckhead, James Blackwell and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Jim Corbin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Chad Martin, Wesley Lutton, Adam Cash, Thomas Birckhead, James Blackwell, Larue Palmer, Jerry Beard and Jim Doyle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Jones, Kristina Birckhead, Heather Palmer, Meagan Cash and Morgan Massie.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the funeral home.
The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes has been entrusted with arrangements.
