She was the daughter of Marcos Peña and Juanita Lopez. She is survived by her brother, Mark (Lucy) Peña and her children, Sylvia (Bill) Tweedle, Daniel Venegas and Carol Fugaban. Lydia was grandmother to Brian, Jennifer, Dianna, Angeline, Renee, Danielle, Emily and Douglas. She was also a great grandmother to thirteen children.
Lydia was passionate about sewing and liked to make clothes for herself and her family. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed crocheting and working with ceramics. In her younger years, Lydia enjoyed travel and vacationed in Hawaii and California. She was an avid reader and always on top of current affairs and had an interest in learning about people and culture. She especially enjoyed going to the theater to see musicals and plays. Lydia retired from Wayne County where she worked as a Dictaphone stenographer at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 3pm until the Funeral Service that will begin at 4pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Guardian Lutheran Church.
