Gerald O. Diete-Spiff Sr.

Gerald Olali Diete-Spiff Sr. “Gerry” was born on December 28, 1937 in Aba, Nigeria to his parents, late Chief Claudius Diete-Amange and the late Sarah-Anne Olali-Ockiya. Gerry passed away on February 23, 2023 at age 85.

Beloved husband of the late Helen Diete-Spiff. Loving father of Gerald Olali (late Tammy) Jr., late Erica Emi, late Courtney Ebiene, Joy Ikiomoye, and Ashley Dibite Abubakari (Omar). Cherished grandfather of Chantique Sulton, Ayanah Amiete Diete-Spiff, Crystal Helena Ebinumo Diete-Spiff, Isis Karina Abubakari, Ariel Wanaemi Abubakari, and Damani Kien Abubakari. Dear god-father of Christina Ballinger and Crystal Waters. Dearest brother of HRM King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Maurice Diete-Spiff, and Doris Nwosu. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Gerry received his Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley and then went on to receive his Master’s Degree from Penn State. He retired from Ford Motor Company as an electrical engineer in 2002 after 31 years. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne and was very devoted to his faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation, Friday, March 3, 2023 from 2-8PM with a Rosary service at 7PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home-Wayne. Funeral mass, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 10AM (in state 9:30AM) at St. Mary Catholic Church-Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in memory of Gerry.
