Frederick C. "Smitty" Smith, age 93, of Wayne, Michigan passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. Loving husband of 68 years to Patricia. Beloved father of Michael (Angie), Randy (Cindy), Tim (Lisa), Margaret (Jim) Byrd, and Deanna (Jason). Proud grandpa of Mike, Laura (Jack), Randy, Andrew, Daniel (Maria), Michelle (Tony), Jennifer (Justin), Jessica (Blake), Jimmy, and Cody. Dear great-grandpa of 11.
Frederick was preceded in passing by his parents, Daniel and Flossie, as well as his seven siblings.
Frederick was born in Volney, New York on June 30, 1931. He moved to the metro Detroit area in 1970 where he spent his career at Ford Motor Company as a Hi-Lo mechanic. He proudly served his country in the Air Force.
He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
