Carol Jeanne Gains

Carol was a loving mother to her son, the late Gary "Daniel" Gains, whose memory she cherished deeply. Her nurturing spirit extended to her nieces and nephews, including Nicole Yaeger, Michelle (Tim) Reiter, Brian Deja, Rachel (Evan) Danielsen, Billy Ringo, Callie (Jeremy) Dance, and Robby (Katie) Ringo. Carol took immense pride in her role as a great-aunt to Mia and Adam Yaeger, Isabella and Charlotte Reiter, Evalynn and Stella Ringo, Ryker Storm, and Casey Danielsen. Each of them brought joy to her life, and she cherished the special moments they shared.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lorraine Otis, and her sister Valerie Otis-Stanwyck.

Carol had a vibrant personality and a warm smile that could light up a room. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like reading a good book and playing a challenging game of Scrabble (and reading the Scrabble cheat book). She was an avid puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed playing games, often gathering friends and family for a friendly competition. Her love for fairies and dragons reflected her whimsical nature, and she had a special affection for Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, a character whose boundless energy and optimism mirrored her own.

Carol's love for animals was well-known, and she was a compassionate soul who embraced everyone with open arms. Her home was a sanctuary for many pets over the years, and she found great comfort and joy in their company. Carol's warmth, generosity, and unwavering acceptance of others made her a beacon of light to those who knew her.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Carol's life will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 34567 Michigan Avenue, Wayne, Michigan 48184. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember the beautiful moments shared with Carol and to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Carol's memory to the American Red Cross, an organization she supported and believed in. Carol Jeanne Gains will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
