Angelina Marie Gagnon

Augusta--Angelina Marie (Frost) Gagnon, 58, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 after a long battle with ovarian cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.

Angelina was born March 7, 1953, to parent’s Barney and Pearl Frost in Waterville, Maine. She attended and graduated from Mount Merici School in Waterville, Central Beauty School in Augusta and University of Maine-Farmington. Angelina worked 20 years at Grace & Ideal Beauty Salon and 10 years at Mount Merici as a teacher’s aide.

On November 11, 1995, she married Reginald J. Gagnon. They spent many happy years together traveling, playing cards, going to camp and to Foxwoods Casino. Angelina also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cross-stitching, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved family get-togethers, enjoyed baking her Christmas goodies, and was known for her fudge recipe.

Angelina was predeceased by her parents and grandparents.

Angelina is survived by her husband Reginald; her two children, daughter Ricia Cain and her husband Jason and their sons Nolan and Julian; son Zakari Whittier and his fiancée Valerie Lathe and his children Isabelle, Anthony, and Zoey and her son Kevin; stepchildren Regina Gagnon, Gary Gagnon and his daughters, Donna Richmond and her sons, and Brian Calahan. She is also survived by her sister Jane Susi; nieces Amanda Susi and her daughter Torrie and Elana Susi; her aunts Edwina Bolduc, Eva Hubert and Vivian Fotter; many cousins especially Ron and Joan Gagnon and Dan Hubert; and many friends especially May Bawcum and Debra Gilbert.

Angelina’s family would like to thank the staff at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care and A4 Oncology at Maine General for the wonderful care throughout her illness.

Visiting hours will be 12:00 PM, Friday, March 2 at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm Street, Waterville. A funeral service will be held, 1:00 PM, Friday, March 2 also at Veilleux Funeral Home.
