Rose Ann Maguire

It is with great sadness that the Maguire Family announces the death of our beloved Mother, Wife, Grand Mom and Aunt: Rose Ann Maguire. Rose Ann passed from us on November 13th, 2021. She was 81 years old. She was the eldest child of Peter and May McKenna (nee Gallagher) born on September 12th, 1940 in the Bronx NY. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Kenneth J. Maguire Sr. They were married June 29th,1963 in the Bronx NY. Rose was also predeceased by her sister Mary Josephine Doyle and Rose Ann's parents Peter and May. She is survived by her three children Kenneth J. Maguire Jr. and his wife Sandra Maguire. Rosemary Anne Maguire and Nancy Jean Maguire Coakley and her husband Martin Gerad Coakley. Rose is also survived by her brother Peter McKenna and his wife Virginia McKenna of Naples, Florida. Rose Ann has five grandchildren: Kenneth Maguire III, Timothy Maguire, Andrew Maguire, Bryanna Rose Coakley and Grace Daniel Coakley. Rose Ann has seven nieces and nephews: Kelly, Robin, Lauri, Allison, Peter. and Kristin and Kelly Patricia. Rose Ann was a devout Roman Catholic and she attended St. Mary's Church at Washingtonville. She graduated from St. Helena High School in the Bronx in June of 1958. Rose Ann loved her family, home and beloved pets. She was an avid student and self made teacher of history, nature and Biblical studies. Rose Ann also loved to shop, dine and travel- especially to the South and West. Rose Ann would always share her childhood memories as well as family memories of her own children growing up. As a family, we still can hear her wisdom and wit; especially her stories about Ireland. Rose Ann was a beautiful quiet soul who lived her life to the fullest with her faith in God, her love of children and she enjoyed making people happy with her humor, generosity and kindness. Rest in peace and forever missed, forever in our hearts.

A visitation for Rose will be held Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A visitation will occur Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A mass of christian burial will occur Monday, November 22, 2021 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Church, 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A burial will occur Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at St. Mary's Cemetery, 2 Fr. Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, NY 10992.
