She was born Mary Agnes Gonzalez to Sylvan Gonzalez and Agnes Manger Gonzalez on February 8, 1931, in the Bronx, New York.
The oldest of three sisters, Mary graduated from Washington Irving High School in Manhattan NY, focusing her studies in Art.
Mary married Jeremiah Dunleavy on October 16, 1954. They had five children.
When she was in her fifties, Mary attended Orange County Community College, earning her RN and working as a nurse at Arden Hill and Cornwall Hospitals. She later managed a physical therapy office in Hopewell Junction, NY.
She is survived by her children Katherine Johnson of Virginia, Jeremiah Dunleavy of Ohio, Margaret Dunleavy of Georgia, Patricia Cave of New York, and John Dunleavy of Florida, eighteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Catherine Green of New Jersey.
Mary had a life-long interest in art, having developed a great deal of skill as a young woman in painting and drawing. She also had a great knowledge of movies and plays, particularly musicals.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville NY on Saturday February 4 at 10:00 AM
