Janet L. Gajeski

Janet Gajeski, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 23, 2020, she was 93.

Daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Costanzo) Giordano. Born (Janet) on March 18, 1926, in Queens, NY. She preceded her sister Beatrice (who passed at age 17).

Janet was preceded by her husband of 47 years to, Edward Gajeski in 1991. Parents of 5 children, Barbara (James McGinnis), Patricia (Russell Carswell), Edward (Lorraine Goria), James (Diane Tolda), Robert (Joanne Partsinevelos). She was blessed with 13 Grandchildren and 23 Great-grandchildren, which she loved deeply and enjoyed immensely.

After raising her children, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. In 2002, she moved to Rockland County, where for more than 10 years, she became a Foster Grandparent at the Jessie Kaplan School, which became her passion, working with handicapped children. She not only loved being with the children, but enjoyed the friendship of the Staff and other Volunteers, they were her second family.

She will be deeply missed forever by her family and many dear friends.
