Mary Ann Ruggieri-Krause

On October 19, 2023, Mary Ann Ruggieri-Krause of Potomac MD passed away. She is survived by her husband Edward J. Krause III, daughter Kara L. Krause and brothers Nicholas L. Ruggieri and David S. Ruggieri as well as her three beloved dogs.

She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 26, 1951 to Nicholas and Linda (Di Domenico) Ruggieri. In her childhood the family moved to Rome, Italy where her father was posted to the American Embassy for a number of years. After returning to the US, she graduated from Immaculata High School and Trinity College. After graduation, she worked in government affairs at the Washington, DC office of Motorola, Inc. Subsequently, she became Co-Chairman of E.J. Krause and Associates, a firm specializing in worldwide conferences and exhibitions. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia and spoke fluent Italian, Spanish and French.

When she was home, she loved entertaining at her home in Potomac. She hosted beautiful parties for family and friends, being especially known for her annual Italian Christmas dinner with her family. During the summer, she loved to spend time traveling in Europe, especially the Italian coast. She was an unfailingly supportive mom to her daughter Kara and indeed all her extended family. All who knew her loved her sparkling personality, class and style. She was an active member of the Catholic community as well as Congressional and Columbia Country Clubs and The Georgetown Club of Washington DC, and she supported many educational and children’s charities.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, located at 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac MD 20854, at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 26, 2023, followed by a celebration of life at Congressional Country Club.
