Harry William Bues, III born on 9 December 1937 in Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on the evening of Wednesday, 7 December 2022 surrounded by his closest family members. Our deeply beloved Harry was released from his painful, yet valiant fight with cancer.
Harry grew up in many cities in the US being his father served in the military. He spent time in Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Virginia, Washington, DC and a short time in Germany.
As a young man moving around frequently, he found solace and comraderie in sports. He was talented in many of the sports he pursued and particularly enjoyed, football, basketball, track, baseball and golf.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, went to Purdue University and a program through the University of Maryland in Munich. He enjoyed a lifetime of fraternity and connections with his Kappa Sigma brothers at Purdue.
Upon his graduation from Purdue University he returned to Washington, DC and pursued a career in the railroad industry that included Southern Railways, Amtrak, Frank Harris Consulting Group and eventually became a partner and partial owner of Klick, Kent and Allen that was purchased by FTI Consulting Group.
He met and married the beautiful and fun-loving Mary Katherine Robertson in November 1966. They shared 56 years worth of adventures around the United States and the globe. Together they raised Karin Michele Bues and Kimberly Maria Bues in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The memories made and lives he touched are too many to mention but he was a man of great and deep character. He served on community boards in all the places he called home, Bethesda, Maryland and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Those who knew him knew his sense of humor, honor, trustworthiness, absolute commitment to do the right thing, his family values and great kindnesses to those he trusted and loved.
