Elizabeth Tatum Diamond died peacefully on September 20, 2018 with family and loved ones by her side at her home of 42 years in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth was born on January 19th, 1933 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Lucille Havron and Eugene H. Tatum.
Elizabeth attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. A few years later, she moved to Port Washington, New York. While raising a family, she served as the regional representative for the University of Chicago in New York City. Elizabeth also engaged in volunteer work for the public television station in New York City, led fundraising drives for healthcare charities, and recruited volunteers for poll watching and canvassing activities during state and local elections in New York.
After moving with her family to Washington, D.C. in 1975, Elizabeth partnered with a number of leading realtor firms and maintained her real estate license in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia for over 25 years. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Laura E. Diamond and son-in-law William F. Decker, of Washington, DC; by her son, John S. Bringham and daughter-in-law, Mary Kay Bringham of Chico, California; and by her two much loved granddaughters, Miss Megan Bringham of Irving, Texas and Miss Shannon Bringham of Redwood City, California.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Henry L. Diamond, and her son, Jeffrey L. Bringham. Elizabeth’s brother, Colonel Lawrence Byron Tatum, a pilot in the United States Air Force who flew one of the first combat patrol missions across the Vietnamese DMZ, was lost in action in 1966.

A funeral and committal will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2 pm at the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, 6201 Dunrobbin Drive, Glen Echo, Maryland.
