Robert Anthony Gentile, Esq.

Robert A. Gentile, Esq., 93, of East Greenwich, passed away at his home on April 16, 2023. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret M. (Hamilton) Gentile in 2018. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony A. and Helen V. (Casey) Gentile.

Robert was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School, LaSalle Academy, Providence College, Boston University School of Law, and attended Georgetown School of Law. He served as the Director of the Pari-Mutual Wagering Department of Racing and Athletics for 28 years prior to his retirement. He also maintained a private law practice for over 60 years.

Robert leaves his children and grandchildren, Robert A. Gentile, Jr., Esq., and his wife Susan, of Davie, Florida and grandchildren, Dante and Bianca Gentile, Esq.; David J. Gentile, Esq., of East Greenwich; Stephen H. Gentile A.I.A, of Milton, Massachusetts; and his daughter, Tracy A. Benway, PT, and her husband, Shawn of Saunderstown, and grandchildren Jordyn and Roman Benway. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan M. Gibbons.

Visitation, Friday April 28th, 9 -10:15 am at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
