James G. Dolan, Sr.

Born in Georgetown, Washington DC he was the son of the late Martin Joseph and Ignatia ( Garside ) Dolan.

James began his career as an educator in the Providence Public School System. He would go on to become Principal of Hope High School and Nathaniel Green School and as Adjunct Professor at CCRI.

Mr. Dolan earned his Advance Degree in Guidance and Administration from Rhode Island College and was also a member of the Providence Teachers' Union.

When not teaching and spending time with family, Jimmy loved going out on his boat and had taken up golfing later in life.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Marilyn Carlson and her husband Leonard of Seekonk, MA, James G. Dolan, Jr and his wife Trish of Cary, NC, Kathi Clarkin and her husband Dennis of Cranston, RI and Bill Dolan of Narragansett, RI. He also leaves 12 grandchildren. James was father of the late Cheryl A. Jamiel and brother of the late Martin Dolan and Louis Dolan.

Funeral from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home will be Monday, April 15, 2024, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick at 8:45 am. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am in St. Mark's Church, 9 Garden Ct, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends may call in the funeral home Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
