Catherine (McDermott) Amiss, 92 of Bristol, RI, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 23. She was the loving wife of the late Robert T. Amiss. They were married for 66 years. Catherine had previously lived in Riverside for 34 years before moving to Bristol in 1992. Born in Cambridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Clara (Dechaine) McDermott.
Catherine was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed traveling, entertaining and spending time with her family. She leaves three children, Catherine Bramley and her husband Alan of Anthem, AZ, Barbara Alamo and her husband Ernest of Warren, RI and Roberta Wright and her husband Douglas of Bristol, RI. She is the grandmother of James Hagerty, Robert Hagerty, Erika Irlbeck and Jenna Costa. She also has 3 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Joseph McDermott and the late Clara McDermott.
