William Anthony Bulger, age 68 of Warren, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center in Madison Heights, Michigan. He was born May 26, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, son of the late William and the late Emily (nee: Ford) Bulger. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to William for his service to our country during the Vietnam War era. As a soldier in our great U.S. Army, he enlisted on August 27, 1964 and was honorably discharged on August 10, 1967, having attained the rank of Private First Class. With pride and valiance, William answered the call to duty and was willing to stand in harm's way for the furtherance of freedom's cause,...and for America's sake. We honor his bravery and extend our country's posthumous gratitude for making us proud.William leaves to cherish his memory, the woman who swept him off his feet almost 30 years ago, Gwinett Wills. The two were married the day after Christmas on December 26, 1986 at Friendship Baptist Church, in front of family and friends alike. The two enjoyed their lives together building on the comforts of home, raising their family, and growing more in love each day.As Bill worked toward his career goals, everything led him to the world of computers,…namely, the specialization of electronics. For many years, he was a Computer Instructor at the renown CDI, the Control Data Institute. One day, quite unexpectedly and following many years of dedicated employment, Bill went to work to find the teaching institute locked up, tighter than a drum. With no prior knowledge, he found himself unemployed and thrust into the world of job hunting. After countless hours and days of expending energies untold, Bill consulted with his bride and the two came to an interesting compromise,…Bill was about to become a "Mr. Mom" and Gwinett would enter the work realm. What seemed a bit mind-boggling at first soon became a comfortable and sensible arrangement for both,…and their new reality had begun. Bill was certainly NOT your average Mr. Mom,…he excelled at it and created his own signature on the new metropolitan lifestyle. Of all the tasks he ultimately assumed, perhaps the most notable was his position of "short order cook." He could whip up anything for anybody,…and shined like a superstar when it came to his preparation of eggs. Bill was easily the consummate EggMeister and often worked some incredible magic with those little white & yellow masterpieces on a plate. And along with his role as Mr. Mom, there's no mistaking the title he held as "Mr. Fix-It" as well. If there was any tinkering or repairing necessary, Bill was your man. When he wasn't working, one his favorite ways to pass the time was by being immersed in a good book,…with some of his favorite reads being something from the world of fiction. But it really didn't matter, he simply loved to read. And if he wasn't reading a book, Bill could often be found writing one. Possessing a talent for writing, he would often get ideas for a great mystery or thriller, and soon you'd find him tapping away on the keyboard. But of all the pastimes he enjoyed, none could match or compare with his skill and talents in painting, an art form that filled his home with oils on canvass that could rival works in an art gallery. He was truly gifted in the medium, and many of his pieces will be on display throughout his visitation at the funeral home.Like many with loved ones in their life, some are blessed to have those "special ones" that come in the form of furry & four-legged, and Bill was just that blessed with 2 Chihauhau & Terrier mix dogs, Rico & Buddy. Rico was his first and was with Bill for 14 years before passing. Next came Buddy who survives Bill, and sadly misses his dear friend,…who awaits him in Heaven. From the words of his daughter, Bill was known for being the Protector of the family. He was also great at being a conversationalist, either beginning or adding to great talk about whatever was on your mind. And he was always a perfect commercial for Hallmark with his romantic and giving ways. He extended cards for every event, always remembered special dates on the calendar, and gave gifts that were always meaningful. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who leaves behind a legacy of love that will be warmly embraced with each reflection shared. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally. William was the beloved husband of Gwinett W. Loving father of William B. (Jennifer Correia) Bulger, Timothy E. Bulger, Ashley W. Bulger, Courtney W. Bulger, and Brittany Emily Jean Bulger. Dear brother of Beverly Jacob, Robert Bulger, John Bulger, David Bulger, the late Linda Margellar, the late Susan Fitch, and brother-in-law of Mark Fitch. Cherished grandfather of Isabelle N. Correia, Dennis W. Bulger and Ian Kwiatkowski. Visitation for Bill will be held Sunday, January 3rd from 5-9 pm, with a 7 pm Funeral Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow on Tuesday, January 5th, 11:00 am at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road in Holly, MI.
