Steve married the love of his life, Terry, on October 14, 1972. They spent 50 years in each other’s loving company. They enjoyed many things in life together like riding motorcycles, taking family roadtrips, and traveling internationally both with the church and for fun. He is the loving father of Steven Miller Schwan, the late Jeffery James Schwan, and Erika Amber Schwan. He loved and adored his grandsons, Garret Steven Schwan and Gage Jeffery Schwan. He is the treasured brother of Arlyle Bradley and uncle to Wendy, Patrick and Shelly. Steve was a family man through and through and was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He was a creative guy and took a prolific amount of photos of his family over the years and made family movies as well. His family will treasure these always.
Steve was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. His faith was central to his life and he dedicated 41 years to the Fellowship Chapel in Sterling Heights. He participated in many ways through the church ministry including leading worship by playing guitar, going on mission trips, hosting missionaries in their home, acting in outreach performances, teaching guitar lessons, and even being their AV guy. For 35 years, he was a salesperson for TRW, and he treasured the friendships he made during his time there. Friends always came easily for him and even when he was traveling to Hungary, Germany, and the Czech Republic, he was making friends. His love of movies and knowledge of cinema and the actors was unrivaled. He loved date nights with his wife, Terry, which they would do every Friday for years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, at Masonic, in Warren. On Saturday, December 18, an instate period will be held at 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM at the Fellowship Chapel, 12875 East 14 Mile Road, in Sterling Heights.
